What's in a name?

I did used to think along a similar way to you about some names....now I am happy to read them . Many folk dont realise they are going to be judged on their name ( even sub-consciously) and it saves me a heap of time scrolling past them. For instance....I am not into scat play so I am not going to click onto Shitmydick's profile (made up name for this example) Now if someone was into scat play....odds are the profile name will gain some interest and contact may be made. So their user name can either work for them or against them. Me...I tend to think that someone with an overtly, base sexual user name, is only into sex with anyone, anything, anytime with little or no regard for the actual person they are interaction with....just the act and its all about them. Call me weird but hey, I am seeking a little more than that when catching up with a man.

Yes I do get very turned off by some usernames. Some are very crude and tasteless but each to their own. I try and not let it stop me from looking at the rest of a guys profile. But if they send me a message that matches the username well no answering message from me. But your username matches you very well Buff😉

To be honest I agree... Crude names do nothing for me except think their aspirations are bigger than their abilities.... I enjoy a creative name for sure that reflects their personality....this shows their creativity, and intelligence instead of just their sexuality......

User names can arouse intrigue or can portray the profile in not such a great light. I have been turned off user names in the past however unless they are overtly crass user names I do tend to now check out a profile if it catches my eye. How does it catch my eye - profile pics!! Lol so user name and profile pics are important I feel in the scheme of rhp world. I digress though - it’s a first impression world here, names and pics draw people in - then after that there’s profile content I feel as the next base for making an impression. I think given what we are here for and the nature of being here means we are (or should be) open minded and accepting then maybe the best thing is if someone fits your criteria (male/female/couple, age etc) regardless of user name maybe it’s worth clicking on their profile and seeing their content. You might find a diamond in the rough just waiting to match with you. And yes you could also bomb out and go well that was shit lol it’s a 50/50 shot why not take the risk?

I have to admit I was judgemental on usernames when I first started on RHP but now unless the name is offensive or clearly asking for something I am not into I look past it.. I myself have had a couple of different usernames that at the time reflected what I was looking for.

Roll it around your mind first The name might give you pause for a variety of reasons: good, bad, smirk, ick. Think about it as it bumps up against any personal pix, as you take in the height, pubescaping and etc. particulars, and as you read any descriptive text about the person with the [???] username. You might find a quirk where previously you had only perceived a level of WTF. Might be less troubling for you then. Relax.

I will admit to rolling my eyes and yes, being judgemental on the overtly crude, rude or sexual usernames. I assume they are here for one thing only, and the who, how and why don't matter to them. The saying "any home's a goal" comes to mind. 🙄 Having said that, there are some quirky, funny and interesting ones! And I remember discussing usernames at an RHP Girl's Afternoon once and how we all came up with our names. Mine was a random mythological pick long ago (I was 19!) as a first ever online username and it just stuck. It also gives me multiple personality disorder when socially hanging out with some of my RHP besties (Freaky, On_Safari), as they're known to address me in public by my actual name, my username, and any related nicknames! 😂

GetMePlease was borne out of some deep thought. As my profile states I am a hard nut to crack so any suitors will need to 'get me' to 'get me'. Until I know a person's name, I always start my message addressing politely profile name, e g. 'Hello Buff'. I must have intuitively stayed away from people contacting me with overtly sexual user names because, in my time here, I don't remember ever launching a message with, e.g., 'Hi lovstolikpussyforhours'. I agree that our prolfile, including user name, photos and written word, create our 'brand'. Our brand can then hopefully attract the type of people we desire to lose some time with. I might just add here, I would love to teach a large number of men how to use their camera applications to crop and enhance their brand photos. Also how to give a little bit extra thought as to how they advertise themselves with the written word.

They can be interesting and fun and curious. But it's the people behind them I wonder more about. I mean to say, some will have average names but act nastily. And some have names that make you cringe but are really nice people. I like to try to take the whole picture into account. Peachy

It's just a chance to show a little creativity. That said, overly vulgar names usually signal you will be treated in a vulgar way. Mine, an average little bird with a beautiful song to sing 😉

You actually can't always tell what a person is like from a profile name, sometimes the message is a revelation and definitely doesn't match the "cringeworthy " name. Why do men choose such names? I think it's the nature of the site and they assume wrongly that women or couples in particular will be impressed.and maybe some will be. Qefenta is an ancient Egyptian word for the feminine principal, mother, vagina etc. Hugs Q

I did worry about mine but it is a word play on a former nickname, a good mate of mine sadly taken too early though it was hilarious. So in honour of him I ran with it and thought it a little fitting for this site....only problem is it’s not enormous just average 😂😂

Slutloves2fuck for eg. It's certainly an individual thing isn't it. ------------------------------------------------ Judging a book by it's cover... On the flipside, I'm supposing names can help people find the kind of people they are looking for too... Peachy

When we were actively looking, when we had our original profile, usrightnow, can't say as we thought about it too much. Maybe a slight turnoff , however, profile content was more important, as was what people wrote in messages or acted upon meeting them. Judging a book by it's cover is fraught with peril, or at least missed or lost opportunities. Funnelly enough, pictures were about the last thing we looked at. Showing creativity in pictures, certainly wins bonus points though. .. We certainly didn't think long about our name, as we were signing up with that first profile, I turned to Mrs. urn. and said, "How about us right now, as in, how we are now, which might change over time." Seems okay. Although, it was interesting when at the Sydney 2016 M&G, people, due to our acronym, urn., called us "The urns", at home we always think of ourselves and say Mr. and or Mrs. u......r.......n. .. Mr. & Mrs. urn. .
