Reminder

Yesterday, I received a heartbreaking phone call from a dear friend who shared the devastating news that they have been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in their life. They told me that, outside of their family, I was the first person they wanted to reach out to, as they need someone they trust for advice and support. I was deeply moved and honored by their trust in me. This conversation transported me back to my time as a police officer, when I often spoke with individuals who were facing the end of their lives. Through those poignant and profound exchanges, I learned a vital truth: material possessions and wealth hold no true value in the face of mortality, and time is a precious gift that can never be reclaimed. What truly matters, and what we will be most fondly remembered for, are the connections we forge with others. It is through our relationships and bonds with fellow human beings that our lives gain meaning and purpose. Without these connections, what would be the point of our existence. There isn’t a specific reason for my post, other than to gently remind every one of you that, over the last 7 generations, it has taken 254 people for you to be here on this earth today. Your presence is not a mistake; it’s a beautiful and intentional part of this world. Shared with love Ex🐈‍⬛

Wow, a topic that we would never have expected to see on here, but as you said, and we 100% agree with you, it’s the connections and experiences we come across during our lifetime that give us meaning and both play a significant role in moulding us into the people we are today and who we will become. We can also relate to what you have written, as one of us has walked the thin blue line for over a decade and experienced what it’s like to walk into complete strangers homes, having to deliver the devastating news that a family member/loved one is no longer with us or is on the brink of death due to a horrible incident. Very well written and we commend you for sharing your thoughts on a not so sexy topic, but a very important one all the same.
