Polygamous relationships

Polygamy as I understand it is not swinging at all. It is a committed relationship in the same way that marriage is, only it involves more than 2 people. Of course like marriage it may have all sorts of variations, but the key is still commitment. Swinging on the other hand is the very pleasurable experience of exploring erotic encounters with other people, usually involving no commitment at all. People in a polygamous relationship may or may not be swingers. What do others think though??
