But I always try and do one good deed every day . Even if it's as simple as opening a door for someone . GG♒- Posted from rhpmobile

Experienced very often as a backpacker, but also at home too. I hope I have given back to strangers too. It's a nice *feel good*.

The other night I bought a item on ebay and when I went to collect it I realised I left the address and my mobile at home . I had the sellers mobile number and called into a servo. The attendant rudely told me no public phone and a attitude of couldn't care less...Then went across the road to another servo . It was obvious by his appearence he was of middle eastern origin and I thought my chances were probally slim . However' to my surprise he tells me no public phone , but offered me his own mobile to make my call. I was shocked and had to ask him if he was sure ? After I finished I wanted to pay him something but he refused.. saying he was happy to help me and wished me a nice evening. I was so chuffed by his attitude and shaked his hand before leaving.. This made me think ? A few weeks back I found a wallet with $200 and a credit card in it. I went to the bank who issued the card who managed to track him down.. a young chinese student. The bank wouldnt give me any details because of privacy so I left my phone number. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he contacted me and I arranged to meet him at a shopping centre. He was very appreciative and couldn't believe someone would find him and return his wallet. I was happy to leave it at that.. but he kept phoning saying he would like to share a dinner as appreciation.. I refused but told him a coffee would be OK.. So I meet him for the coffee and we had a chat. He had only been in Australia for 2 weeks and was keen to be my friend.. Too much for me... haha.. I thanked him telling him he should spend his time with people his own age.. I even had to drop him off at his unit because he still got lost finding his way around... I guess what goes around comes around.. ? Jay

Also as a traveller on many occasions. I was once on a train from Calais to Innsbruck , and it was my birthday, which is overnight. Started chatting to a older Swiss man, as you do. He was very interesting to chat with and was an antique dealer. At a certain point he was getting off the train and said as a birthday present handed me some money which were Suisse francs. Of course I tried to say no but he persisted. I kept it for about a year, still slightly embarrassed but, when I exchanged it, it was approx $150!!! I also like to give when I am able, time, a smile, a helping hand.........

I had a "visitor" over from the eastern states for a fun weekend. We caught the train up to the Swan Valley and got on a bus for a tour of the wineries, anyways on the return train ride after much wine, my iphone dropped from my bag with my wallet !A nice young couple handed them in to the authorities and my property was returned intact ! The reward offered was refused, they just were happy to earn some good karma ! Their words. They had messaged many of my friends trying to contact me so I am mildly amused at what they may have read !Perhaps that was reward enough !

50zKool you're not 'of middle eastern origin' or a 'young Chinese student' by any chance? If so leave JayMe alone and find some friends your own age...

I have also when settled OS, picked up many a backpacker and invited them into my home, fed them and danced off to work the next day leaving them with travel instructions in my abode. The amount of times people have been angry at my wry trust but I have never been let down. I have always been told I'd be robbed, but each and every time I've had the dishes done, the house straightened and a thank you note awaiting me.   The generosity of strangers is endless. And I love it. And I'll not stop giving, ever. Maybe a bad experience or two, but hell, after 100 great experiences.... I have faith.

i was in a relationship at the time, a relationship that i was considering to end and then I started thinking well maybe i won't find someone else and should i stay with who i was already with and was feeling just down and a bit sorry for myself and then one day at work of all places i got a look from the new guy that was so hot i felt like my clothes were about to burn off and i took one look at that sex mouth of his and that was what i needed, i needed to know i was still attractive and could still put em...it took this random stranger one look to make me feel like i was the queen of the world and i didn't need anybody to make me happy...this random stranger is now one of my dearest friends and he never fails to make me feel attractive...now if only i can get him to put out before i need a walking frame -.-

It happens so infrequently that I have to think hard... last time was at the Bris M&G early this year when a parking warden gave me directions on where to put my car so he didn't book me.The time before that was a truckie showing me how to tie down my trailer properly nearly 9 years ago on a drive over the Nullabor heading to WA... so pretty long periods between receiving any "Random acts of kindness".On the flip side, I love doing "Random acts of kindness" as it is fun to see peoples reaction. For example a girl had her purse stolen at a pub a few weeks ago and was sitting in the street crying because she couldn't get home and nobody would help her. So I put her in a taxi with enough money to get home... the expression on her face was priceless!

As a young adventurous man lost in foreign suburbs 600kms from my home with no money, I knocked on a door and asked for directions, told the man my story, who the. verily fed me 3 large servings of his family dinner in his home & gave me his abundant gold coin collection from his ashtray after driving me out of the burbs to the highway where I could hitch a ride. Bloody legend!

and usually in a shopping environment. Very recent example - I was at my local Aldi and 2 ladies (mum n daughter ?) were walking near a very large cardboard box with watermelons enclosed, but they were about half way down, and couldn't reach them ! Long arms came in very handy. Not too long before in local Kmart, again 2 ladies along in the aisles, wanted an item from the top shelf, naturally couldn't reach it either. Guess who was handy ? Happens on a reasonably frequent basis. Not complaining, mind you - it's bit of a giggle for me.   Tall
