Self isolating

March 18 2020

What will you do if we go into lockdown and/or how are you coping with imminent or current self isolating.
What's the upside?
I've started self isolating and begin working from home from tomorrow, so missing contact with friends and BF . No hugs or sex for me in near future, so bit bummed out.
Let's hear something positive. This could be a long road . Do you have plans?

...have a few things planned to do some online work as my usual face to face work may not be as busy.
Must say, the Health and Safety thread got me thinking along the rhp -adult and dating type sites, maybe, just maybe, there may be a shift online with people meeting, as in now, taking the time to communicate , really communicate and get to know more about each other before being able to meet up.

    Could be good.

I wouldn’t be self isolating alone, I’d be with my loved ones so it’d be more like a holiday for me. As long as we were fed and I didn’t have to worry about the mortgage getting paid I’d be good 😊

I’m one of the frontline people when it comes to keeping things going though so whilst all the higher up people get to enjoy working from home this little peasant has no chance, I’m also quite healthy and haven’t had so much as a cold for about 2 years now so I’ll probably never be lucky enough to get quarantined.

It's surreal kind of watching as shit falls apart all around us. My FB feed is dominated by news of why we have to socially-distance or self-isolate.
Plans, getting on with what I can (mindfully) before I no longer have a choice. Socially-distancing is on my mind as I move around.

Self isolation, I'm almost feeling a sense of relief that it could be a chance to stop the world for a little while (with my favourite human), and for a change fit in with most everyone else at the same time.
Plans, appreciate, reflect, think of how to make the best of the food we have, top up the booze, and make sure I paid my internet bill! Peachy

True, the 'No time wasters!!!' might have to reconsider. Although the "Pics?" question might come even sooner.

The positive is there will always be a starter conversation available for those that are conversation challenged rather than "Hi".
People may start to connect at a deeper level.

I also felt some relief at first but reality of it is starting to set in. I'm just trying to stay connected to loved ones as much as possible.
I had started to renovate but it kind of feels like I shouldn't spend too much money on anything other than essentials ATM. So attacking the garden right now and focusing on my fitness, meditation and trying ( fairly unsuccessfully) to limit my media reading such as Reddit to small blocks. I am very thankful for the ability to stay connected .

My lifestlye will be almost unchanged, except for the frequent (or any!) overseas travel.
Assuming the freat unwashed dont stuff it up fir tge rest of us, buy contunuing to ckean out the supermarkets
I live alone in a small coastal town
    I surf alone most days
I'm renovating, so I work alone most days
I'm already in a low risk catagory, and no, its not lonely. 😂

I've always lived my own way, independent and free. I like it 👌🏼😁

But my cafe ig life, life on the
batavia coast will take a severe hit!
I'll keep it up till they close them all, then it'll have to be deliveries and home cooking.

I'm not concerned about the virus itself, not for me anyway. Just the reactions of the stupid humans

    Good luck everyone

    Ps.
    Ooops, nearly forgot.
As far as the sex and intimacy goes, theres always video calls, kik, whatsapp, ig etc to share real time images I guess 😂😂

My job would be rather funny if I worked from home...but thankfully I come into contact with few people and I wash my hands before getting back in the office....

Think I’ve washed my skin enough even buffalo bill would love me 😂😂

Isolation though doesn’t bother me too much, I have the Xbox, I have fishing rods....it does make me feel a bit insecure about my kids but I’m just being a bit of a control freak lol

Had planned a 2 week trip to Adelaide around Easter, to celebrate 2 big birthdays and spend time with family from Canada. As they cancelled their trip to Oz, so I cancelled mine (thanks Qantas)For now, work is continuing as usual, but do have a plan in place if self isolation becomes a must. Being able to work remotely is possible, so that is a no brainer.
Pantry has been topped up to cover 2 or more weeks at home, looking forward to some imaginative meals using packet goods.Red wine, bubbles and spirits/liqueurs all sorted........and of course the housemate has the chocs/candies stocked up.
Hope all peeps stay healthy and look after the vulnerable ones around us.

Looking forward to self isolation (if it happens). The thought of having diddly squat to do and hunkering down at home with my Hubby and kids is pretty awesome. Rarely happens that we get the time to just sit, chill and be together...... always out and about and busy. Seriously don't know why some people are making such a big deal out of all this CV19.

This virus is the reason my work has been cancelled for the remainder their the school term and possibly next term too. I am a massage therapist, and with people keeping their distance are not likely to want another's hands all over them! Financially, this will be hard, my partner is also self employed (no leave paid) and his work it is unavoidable to have contact with others.

But, if we go into isolation, I think board games, cuddles within our family and lots and lots of lovemaking between my partner and I ❤

Haven't really stockpiled food, so hoping what we have gets us by... did buy a 5 kilos rice bag yesterday so worse comes to worse we can eat that with different sauces each day 🤣

Loving the idea that people might be able to manage more than two messages before getting bored! We've always been the type to chat on here a bit first rather than just just jumping in, no bad experiences as a result... just a few with no real connection, but lovely people none the less.

We're shocking introverts, so staying at home wouldn't be the end of the world. Kids are likely to send us a bit insane though, we've just spent three weeks on holidays together and I'm not sure we'd manage another two😂

I wonder how many on here would actually be up for meeting at the moment anyway? On that thought, we must make a point of sending some old friends messages, our last twelve months has been quiet and home based. You tend to forget how hard it can be to meet genuine people that you actually like, then you get busy and let things slide😊

Good luck keeping it sexy online folks!

I work in transport and currently some of that involves delivering food so I think I might be one of the exceptions allowed out.

In any case there's lots to do around the house and lots of places to go for a walk without seeing anyone even at the best of times.

Still actively looking for date/s and possibility of not self isolating alone but they might have a vaccine by then lol

We work in intensive care and it feels like it’s the quiet before the storm, no isolation for us 🤔 feels like we are in the boats getting ready to storm the beaches at Normandy in WW2. Most responses here seem to be about everything but sex - except if you have an in house partner. Interesting for a sex dating site.
There are some really interesting things you can to to explore and expand your horizons for self pleasure and learn how to pleasure others. Read some of the blogs much available elsewhere to.
There is also the chat rooms, cam one on one and polish up your profile. Suggest an on-line game of strip poker - all on cam - one dealer and special requests permitted. Maybe RHP could set one up and offer to be the dealer - count me in.
I like Earth Queen as she is into tantric sex and exploring - this can be very rewarding - becoming a mulit-organsimc male, enjoying prostrate orgasms that shake and tingle you from head to toe multiple times, either solo or with a partner.
The same for female - exploration.
I stay often in Wollongong (from Sydney) so the thought of someone with similar purgation is very appealing ;-)

We cant always talk about sex 24/7. This is posted in other topics which is generally not focused on sex though it's fine if it's brought up. A lot of people are a bit shell shocked right now but Im sure as self isolation kicks in their minds will turn to sex, if it hasn't already. All that time on our hands. I've got a lot of tantra books and have fallen out of practising tantric meditations etc so maybe its a perfect time to get back into it solo. Its always a good time to practise to be honest, loads of benefits.

Our days will be the same ensuring we keep food heading to the butchers and supermarkets. Being in the kitchen has always been a stress relief for me, as an introvert on Christmas Day I'll go and hide in the kitchen with a glass of wine 😬 I wonder if mods will approve food pics if I'm nude in them?

As an aside, big increase in the number of "want to meet up" flirts from guys. I don't think everyone's quite got their heads around this yet🤷‍♂️ Chatting away on here is a great way of having a break from the news, but I can't see much meeting up going on

Try to stay warm and healthy incase you have something.
For activities to occupy time, it would be a great time to get the spring cleaning done or yard work if you have a yard.
The hardest hit would be pets, if you have a dog they will miss their walks.
How are you going with food and other household supplies?

    Self isolation...
Personally I think the two week isolation is just to see if there's some sort of containment that can be achieved.
This virus will be with us for the next 6 months at the very least.
I have never witnessed the bad behavior as seen in the last couple of weeks and it shows the selfishness of some of our society which should be called out and those made to feel like there's no place for their attitude in society..
This is an opportunity to help those who need it the most amd not be so self involved.

Having got that off my chest I hope everyone is doing ok through this as it's just a short term problem which we will get past and hopefully not too many pass from this.

It is a good chance to slow down and reflect which is hard with the general pace of life.

Meeting up with someone new is not really an option but it's a chance to get to know more peeps as online will be the social outlet for most.

All the best everyone and stay safe..😊

One more thing is if you are one of those selfish people that has an excessive amount of toilet paper or santizer it would be a kind thing to go to the supermarket early when the elderly or disabled are queuing up and hand out some of your excess.

Linertine101, do you think as a society we have progressed above the emotional impulses and really on objective thinking?

I would love to be 'self isolating' with someone (or some people). ;-) A couple I know well just had their second baby a week ago and they've asked me (very politely) to not visit for a few weeks and with a newborn I fully understand. They are video chatting with me almost every day and last night all three of them were chatting with me naked! That was quite a hoot.

It certainly is a cause for concern at hoe society has reacted over a situation where a bit of vigilance and awareness will go a long way in shortening the life of the virus.
For example if there was something that happened in the world like WW3 is it each person for themselves and end up like lord of the flies..
We dont seem to be progressing as a society at all.
As far as conspiracy theories are comcerned lets just not even go there as this is not the time and place for that...just deal with the current situation we all face and help each other out..

Would mean I would work from home and be paid for it. Trying to keep those who report to me busy while they are doing the same will be a challenge, not because they are a bunch of slackers, but because they will no doubt have their little ones at home with them. Thats what is going to happen to many people - trying to work at home while their youngsters are also at home being home schooled (this is when -not if - schools close).

If I have to self isolated it will be due to illness, so I'll be doing my damnest to get better. After working 6 day weeks all this year averaging 55+ hours a week, and also spending the one day off with a famiy member who has been critically unwell due to severe mental illness all year, I'm surprised I'm still standing and still relatively well. So if I go down with anything (a cold is enough reason for any of us to self isolate atm) I will make every effort to recover from the whole damn year!

If I can get some spare time, it will be spent painting two rooms in my house, and if the paint shop is open, grab some paint to start the exterior paint work- windows, trims, fascias etc. Autumn is a great time to get that done...and there's a chance my lawns might get mown more than once every 6 weeks. The neighbours will rejoice! 😂😂

There are always positives and negatives to everything.
I work in a supermarket and have been shocked by how people have reacted. Its been frantic!
    Media mmm
Calm down take a chill pill!
People there is plenty of everything to go around. Stop stock piling. Its pretty sad that major supermarkets have had to implement restrictions on items because of just plain greediness.

    I agree.
I almost feel like I'm living in a freaking movie at times.

We are OK at home focusing on our family which is small.
We can eat the grass out the front that is overgrowing if we're desperate?
In reality, I'm also exploring my family tree which got shook and this nut fell off the paternal side after the DNA test mid last year. I'm rewarded to be learning more about my maternal side which has been a gap in my exploration of my history?

Self isolating if you have the virus or are a close contact, or returned from overseas etc is the type where it is quite literally except for need to be moved for medical treatment only.

In the case of advised or mandated government shutdowns of the country for all possible people, the citizens are allowed out for necessities including food shopping, and also includes dog walking (but keeping to yourselves).

In view of the new rules that kick in tomorrow at midday I think Australia wide just had a wake up call. Lots of lost jobs. Friends and acquaintances that need help. Its no longer about toilet roll.
Be kind everyone and make sure those who are in difficulty have a support network or need our help.

OP I’m trying to be out in nature (isolated) as much as possible. Today I drove through the national park enjoyed the sound and nature around me, Saturday night I drove into a drive thru movie out and Blacktown. (Ha jokes had a good catch up with a friend)
I’m one of the people impacted in the travel/airline industry the reality is I will be losing my job, I’m trying not to think ahead too much and taking it day by day, focusing on trying to get Aussies back home safely.
A few things I would be doing as I am a naturally social person is as follows
*watch those tv series we love, I’m talking start GOT again, Seinfeld, sex and the city etc
    * watch the entire marvel movies in the right order
    * I adore music, I have records as part of my life
    * invest in a complex puzzle board / brain teasers
    * paint supplies, paint anything the comes to mind
    * draw/colouring in books anything crafty
    * read or download audiobooks ( could be some streamy series)
    * de clutter those projects you have been putting off
    * meditation/ home gym
    * gardening, plant some veggies if you have the space or investing in chooks
    * social distinct with those neighbours, check in on them
    * and porn, nothing wrong with it. Feeling game you could always find a caming show to watch or participle in

Days of converting classroom content for Health and PD into something the students can do at home will be fun... The challenging part will be how to make students tick off the PE content.
    - Challenging kids to do 10,000 steps while stuck in their house or apartment and they'll want to kill you when school resumes hahahah

    You would hope...

That landlords (residential and commercial) would also take a hit or freeze rents, especially if the bank/s are allowing them to do so.

A lockdown without work means it might be impossible to move out even if you get "kicked out". And in any case, no one new will be likely be moving in. For example, the choice could likely to be a tenanted building unable to pay rent, or an empty building. Same effect on the landlord, so you think they would extend occupancy.
