Do you love me?

“Do you love me?” She asked

I replied

“i haven’t gone too far, and

stubbornly I have stayed

close to what I know -

in these later years, that is mostly

into your arms and

the comfort of your hands

which, with the gentlest touch

or

a squeeze of my hand

can settle me and disarm me

embracing all of me

- even my darkest fears

and all without any words -

And there is a something in me which

understands that

in the same way I understand the pause

between taking breaths

in the sharing of our breath

which tangos

when we kiss - and

that every kiss I give to you

is a kiss I give myself -

knowing this

leaves me vulnerable

and fragile

but strengthened and

ready to submit to you completely.
