It’s official – Our Secret Spot is Australia’s best Swingers venue!

They took out the prestigious title at the recent Australian Adult Industry Awards, and we think it’s very well deserved. RedHotPie has been a proud sponsor and partner of OSS from the beginning, and we’ve seen the hard work founders, Lawrence and Jess have put in.

We sat down with Lawrence to chat about the award and what the future holds for OSS.

(RHP) So, OSS has just taken out a big award, tell us all about it!

(Lawrence, Our Secret Spot) Having OSS awarded the “Best Swingers Provider/Venue” was a pleasant surprise. Since the votes are gathered from the general public, it is nice to know there are people out there that took time out of their day to vote for us. We are extremely grateful that we have made it this far as a venue in Sydney and recognition like this gives us the energy to keep on providing the best possible venue we can for couples and single women every weekend.

What separates OSS from other lifestyle venues?

As a lifestyle venue we tend not to look at what others are doing; rather, we prefer to focus how we can be a sexy and safe environment for like-minded couples and single ladies to come and explore their fantasies. We are always aiming to put on sexy themed events that tantalise the imagination. Also, we are proud of the education we provide to newbie couples into the lifestyle. As a venue, we take special care of those couples and single women who are new to the swinging lifestyle or clubs and do our best to educate them not only for success in OSS but success in the wider swinging community.  

It’s taken a lot of work to get to the top, so what’s next for OSS?

We want to continue providing a fantastic experience for every couple that comes through the door. We have been toying with the idea of creating a different version of the club for Sydney that we feel will do very well based on visiting other swingers clubs around the world. We are also planning special events that aren’t just your typical themed party – more information to follow soon.

People curious about the lifestyle can feel a little intimidated about getting along to a club or an event for the first time, how do you address those apprehensions at OSS?

We address peoples feelings of apprehension by creating information upfront that looks like any other business they may seach for. Our website is clear and explains what the venue is all about – it isn’t in-your-face sex. We have social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Snapchat) to give curios people an insight to what actually happens in the club. Additioanlly, we offer multiple avenues of contact for people who need clarity or just want to chat and make sure that everything is as it seems. We have multiple reviews online on various media platforms so newcomers can see that there is nothing to be afraid of.

At all points before a couple or single lady steps through the door we do our best to normalise their interaction with the club whether it be online, email, phone or through social media. The more closely aligned we are with what people are used to seeing from a business the more they can (hopefully) feel comfortable that there is nothing to be afraid of and we are all lovely people who just like a bit of cheeky adult fun!

In one sentence we promote OSS as a night lounge where you will meet open-minded people and you have the option to play if you desire.

Can you describe what a new couple might experience on their first visit to OSS.

It’s important for us to make it clear for couples new to OSS the difference between ‘hopes’and ‘expectations’. Once that message is clear what we tell you is you will meet open-minded couples and single women. You can mingle and chat with other couples whilst having a drink. Our friendly staff will give you a tour of the venue and explain the house rules. The staff can also give you guidance on meeting new people with conversation starters and occasionally we put couples with other couples we feel will get along well together based on our intereactions with them at the door and on tours. From there, the night is yours to chat, explore and do what ever you desire.

Is attendance at the club pretty random or or is there more of a community feel?

This can vary from what’s on for the evening. We tend to find key events dates like our birthday parties have more of a community feel. Couples and groups that we have supported the club over the years tend to come to these events. Other regular evenings can have a mixture of 50/50 newcomers and return guests. It’s not often you’ll see the same couples unless you plan to meet them at the club. So it’s always a good night to check out the club and meet new sexy people.

What are some of the highlights on your event calendar each year? There are numerous events throughout the year that are highlights for us. Our biggest event is our Birthday Party. Our birthday is celebrated in the month of March and typically this event sells out a week before. Our next biggest events are Halloween and New Years Eve. Halloween has seen some really awesome costumes and people really earn those devils horns they wear.

Other highlight events are the Girl Night In parties which we hold once every three months or so and are free events for women only to attend. It’s basically a Hen’s Night without any particular hen and girls tend to get a little wilder.
