The endless search for the 'extra' significant other!

searching through profiles has been a long and not so successful process so we are trying the forums.

You may also want to check out fetlife , not as good for meeting people in Australia, but since you’re overseas, could be a good option.
I hope you both find him, but definitely take your time.
